The Grand Day Out
C3i Group and On Course

Back by popular demand, the Grand Day Out will take place at The Duke's Course in St Andrews on Friday 29 June, 2018 with a new main sponsor in the C3i Group and our charity the On-Course Foundation.

We have had many unforgettable moments over the past six years. Who can forget the inspiring chip-in from one of our long-time supporters, James Pryde, caught on camera by our on-course team at Ferguson Media, which clearly impressed his playing partner, the former Scotland and British and Irish Lions captain Gavin Hastings?

But the event has become more than a sporting day out with many of our military veterans, who have suffered physical and mental injury in the line of duty, telling us that it is now a staple social gathering on the UK calendar.

Once again, the day will begin with a golf breakfast followed by some wizardry from golf's no1 trick-shot master Dean Davis. Then it's on to a day’s golf on the wonderful Duke's Course with teams of golfers and celebrities joining our injured servicemen and women in competing for the 2018 Grand Day Out Trophy, won last year by the crack shots of 6 SCOTS, who will again join us to defend their title. Then we retire to the luxurious clubhouse and the military-themed Grand Day Out Summer BBQ.

We are delighted to confirm that our event charity will be the On-Course Foundation, and, in addition, we will be raising funds for Army Piping & Drumming. As always we have organised a plethora of innovative on course competitions and challenges for your enjoyment.

Organiser Major (Retd) Tim Grantham commented: "Thank you to all who have supported this event for the last five years and now into our sixth, from the great staff at The Duke's to our wonderful sponsors,  golfers,  entertainers and sports stars. We have raised invaluable amounts of money to support more 'Grand Days Out' for injured servicemen and women and, more than that, we have an event that continues to create and strengthen friendships, and ensure our military personnel feel part of the warm, Scottish family."

One of the competing former servicemen added: "It is a fantastic event and the effort people put in to support people like myself who are working hard just to cope with life after the effects of war is truly humbling. Everyone who is involved needs to know that the 'Grand Day Out' plays a massive part in helping us to rehabilitate and find a sense of purpose again in life. So thank you."
